Social Context of Activities

 

For each activity mentioned, participants were asked whether they were alone or who was with them.

The following variables were aggregated for each of the activities which the participants pursued alone or in company:

(a) the total length of time in which the activity was pursued either alone or in the company of the various people mentioned over the course of the day (minutes)

(b) the number of various activities at which the people mentioned were present (frequency), and

(c) the percentage of time (of the total waking hours of the participant in question) which the people mentioned spent with the participant (percent).
